We approach design not merely as an endeavor in the visual realm but one concerned with all of the senses and emotions of guests. As event designers, our role is to build the design story as well as provide the space upon which it can unfold and flourish. In Shelby and Dylain’s wedding design, we played the roles of both author and audience. The more we brainstormed on their vision, the more a story began to naturally emerge - illuminating a cosmic connection. Like how the sharp lines of an architectural chuppah soar to the sky while simultaneously sheltering the family within. Or how celestial-inspired florals remind us we rely just as much on starlight as we do on gardens for life and its many celebrations to thrive. Design enables us to see the sentimental waltz between our world and the worlds beyond, which are, in many ways, still our world.
We have spent billions to go to the moon - we go to this lesser satellite called the moon and say we are in space, but we are in space right now; we just don’t feel ourselves to be in space. Some forms of art and some forms of spirituality do give us that sense.
